When Alan Shepard made his sub-orbital space flight on May 5, 1961, he opened the door to the cosmos and America entered the space race. Then with America landing on the lunar surface in July of 1969, the race to the Moon was over. But it was not the end of man’s race further out into space. Today this race is a cooperative effort of many nations and is being waged for all mankind.
We now stand on the verge of launching a manned mission to Mars and finally building a permanent orbital space station. Join us as we relive the momentous events of our time and prepare for exciting continuation of this amazing adventure. |
