ZION NATIONAL PARK
This was Utah's first national park, a place where massive canyon walls ascend toward a brilliant blue sky. Zion's specific geographic location and variety of life zones combine to create a host of habitats for a remarkable array of plant and animal species. Located on the Colorado Plateau, and bordering the Great Basin and Mojave Desert Provinces, Zion is home to plants from each of these ecosystems. For the visitor, experiencing Zion, you need to walk among the towering cliffs and challenge your courage in a small narrowing canyon. These unique sandstone cliffs range in color from cream, to pink, to red and take on an even more vivid tone against the deep blue sky.
