Beijing & Xian
For more than 5,000 years the story of China, it’s emperors and his subjects have woven into a rich tapestry of history. Incredible cities, the likes of which the west had never seen, would rise, fall and be rebuilt as China redefined its civilization.
Today, Beijing is an interesting blend of the very old and the new. Here, soaring skyscrapers rest on the doorstep of 500 year old Royal Palaces. From the “Forbidden City” and the Emperor’s “Summer Palace” tot he Great Wall of China, this is a journey you don’t want to miss.
Xian is the home of the Terracotta Army, a silent force of 10,0000 clay soldiers, made to guard China’s first emperor in the afterlife. This early seat of power is also the location of nearly 70 other royal tombs. Visit the Wild Goose Pagoda, one of China’s earliest centers of Buddhist teaching and study. |
